Spire is a product ecosystem of recording, production, and collaboration tools for capturing pro vocal and instrument tracks anywhere without a studio.

To coincide with our updated core persona, I was tasked with refreshing Spire’s visual identity, which was reflected across 360 campaigns for Spire iOS, Spire Pro, and Spire Studio.

PROCESS

New user data shared by our product design team determined that Spire musicians had evolved. To better understand this new persona, I conducted competitive research + user interviews for insights into the brand aesthetics they identified with.

I used these insights to create mood boards and pitchdecks, which guided my art direction across all marketing touchpoints.

I took inspiration for Spire’s visual direction from light artist James Turrell, creating an ethereal aesthetic to communicate the “anywhereness” of our main tenet that is democratized, studio-free recording.
